Recent ExperiencesHangar Daylight Mish at Heathcote Malt WorksWritten by asphyxiac 12 days ago – 17 photos – rated 50.0% Covert_one and I decided to take an ANZAC weekend drive to see if we could ninja the Maltworks during daylight hours. We were keen to see how it had changed since the last time we were there... Our favourite change was that the door to the hangar was now half a meter open, so that's where we ended up spending the entirety of our time. We got to see the plane close up, along with a big truck, a forklift, and several old cars - all with smashed windscreens or completley missing engines. There's a whole lot of random stuff in there - documents, reciept books, a fuck-tonne of empty vinegar bottles and stacks upon stacks of generic boxes of stuff. Our favourite find was the reels of thousands of malt vinegar stickers. Apparently I didn't understand Covert_one's camera too well, ... read more A Saturday night, a crap camera, and a whole lot of stairs at Cathedral JunctionWritten by asphyxiac 12 days ago – 9 photos – rated 50.0% We've been keeping an eye on that big new building under construction on Gloucester st in town. It was a quiet Saturday night, but there was still a whole bunch of drunk people attracting a whole lot of attention to themselves... After a perimeter scout we found this tiny gap between the building and another existing building, perhaps less than 2 feet wide. 20 meters later we decided to Lara-Croft it up the gap to climb on to the first story, remaining invisible from the street. The building itself is huge. It's pretty much what you would expect - a whole bunch of random tools, machines, first aid kits, buckets of paint, etc. The building itself is perhaps the tallest in Christchurch now? From the top the only building we noticed that seemed to rival it was the Grand ... read more Culvert Running at The BoulevardWritten by p0stal_b0b 14 days ago – 2 photos – rated 55.0% Matt & I jumped a fence & walked down an access ramp into the culverts, on the west side of Target Rd. With a bit of rain the day before, I was surprised to see only about 1cm of water flowing over the concrete. Heading east, we walked for about 120m in the open air, until the culvert went underground, & followed it in. The entrance was marked by graffiti & tagging, which continues most of the way through. Some guy calling himself "Dwell" seems to have been up a few of the feeder pipes off the Boulevard, & has tagged the entrances. The tunnel turns a sharp corner to the right, then continues until it hits an intersection with the inlet from the holding lake by Denny's in Wairau park. Standing at the intersection, you can look out over the lake & see Denny's & the furniture sto... read more Serious drain exploring in Wellington at Nui MangaWritten by trioxide 18 days ago – 3 photos – rated 70.0%
Not for the un-experienced drain explorer. Nice obs. point at Palmers Head Observation PointWritten by trioxide 18 days ago – 6 photos – rated 60.0% With some time to burn in Wellington, I drove out to this place. Nice view of the airport and passing aircraft. Also a nice example of a cool WW2 obs point. Apparently there is some underground stuff near here, but with limited time I couldn't find it. Fort Ballance exploration at Fort BallanceWritten by trioxide 18 days ago – 14 photos – rated 42.5% Having a day or so in Wellington I went to check this thing out. It's a really nice example of a WW2 fort. Multiple gun circles, stair cases, ladders and some underground sections. Todo: For the most hardcore explorers there is a second underground section which seems sealed by a concrete slab. An unfortunate addition which could be removed with some hard work. tokes mish at Tokanui Mental HospitalWritten by evilginga 19 days ago – 21 photos – rated 55.0% went for a cruse threw and took these pics with dinostion it was kick ass theres heapsa underground tunnels an every bilding has a ''entry point'' well worth a look. no ones vault. at Rata Street (Bank Vault Under House)Written by fisticuff 25 days ago – 2 photos – rated 52.5% I remember hearing about this mysterious house a few years ago from a local man, although no address or description was given. Then, a couple of months ago, it appeared in the newspaper, which mentioned the street name and the fact that the house now lay abandoned as authorities searched for the owners. Also mentioned was the fact that the top floor had been burned - made it kinda easy to spot! After visiting a site up the road for work, I stopped in and had a nosey, I only had the work (crappy) camera on me at the time - excuse the quality would ya? The guts is: A large (80 square foot) vault was built into the side of the hill in the farmland of Naenae, Wellington in the 1940s. A house was then built around the vault to conceal it. The country's money reserves were... read more Bad Times at Christchurch Women's HospitalWritten by anonymous 27 days ago – 0 photos – rated 23.3% Well we walked around this place after failing The Feltex factory, it was about 1am and we tried a heapa property invasions to get into the womens hospital untill we found a fence or intersection that got us in so we had a look round saw a light on in a building so we left. about 20mins later we tought we would tri and get there by going over fences in an apartment complex, well, there were about 10 identical courtyards with head hight concrete fences after the 1st one which i managege to make the most noise posible I started getting jittery and in the seccond yard I heard the sound of mettl blinds being parted, I turned and saw eyes. Now this is my least proud moment, I whisper/screamed that someone saw us and to run! Bad idea we all started to vault fences tripple time wak... read more Urban Ex Noobs at FeltexWritten by anonymous 27 days ago – 0 photos – rated 12.0% me and my 3 amegoes discovered urban ex and desided feltex would be a good starting spot so armed with a bag of tricks and our noobish confidence we walked the parrimeter and then through the middle. The brains of our outfit had looked at photos and decided we would get on the roof via a tree climb. All went well we walked around a bit and were in the act of trieing to find a spot to secure our rope (Courtecy of the bag of tricks) when some headlights pulled up into the front area we of course hid and there was no way they could see us... until the brains stood up to see what was happening luckily the guy in the car was to busy entering a 5 didget pin into a key pad then havn a quick loook round the inner courtyard. after that we got skittish and went to leave.
