chilimissy's experience @ Heathcote Malt Works"caution. police exercises" (seriously, AOS no less)when we arrived, there was a gate open, but it had a sign near it that said “caution police exercises”. we thought fuck. we walked through the gate and saw some people off in the distance, but the cool looking buildings were right beside us. there were a few cars that drove in the gate. we waited around for a bit, then made a dash for some stairs we could see. so we had our adventure, only in the 1st two buildings to the right of the gate, took lots of photos and didn’t go anywhere near where there were cops milling about. we didn’t stay for long because of them. we were jumping at every sound, and could hear doors opening and closing in other buildings. as we were leaving one of the cops came walking towards us. “excuse me” we kept on walking thinking “oh fuck oh fuck”, then he said “EXCUSE ME” a lot louder this time, so we stopped. “you aren’t taking photos of us are you?” i felt like telling him he wasn’t pretty enough. and my friend was resisting the urge to take his photo. “no no, we are taking photos of the buildings, thats all” “well, we are using explosives. is there anyone else about?” “no, just us and we are finished” he said thank you and sent us on our merry little way. i didn’t click until i got home that the black uniform i saw = armed offenders squad! i pointed out to someone; who suggested i had more balls than them for going in there while i KNEW cops where there, that i’m a chick in my late 20’s, even if i do look younger. i’m not a teenager, or a homie. i was reasonably dressed and everything i had was in plain sight ie: no backpack. i didn’t look suspicious at all. but i think if i had been a young guy, they might have thought differently. guys=trouble. they would’ve imediatly thought a dude was up to something.
